TEMPLE OF JUSTICE – A $25 million lawsuit has been filed against JFK Memorial Hospital and anesthesiologist Dr. Gonkernue Nuahn over the alleged wrongful death of 26-year-old Lovette Tamba and her unborn child.
The suit, filed on behalf of her four-year-old son, Destiny Obey Kerkula, accuses the hospital of medical negligence after Tamba, who was 26 weeks pregnant, died following a series of alleged treatment errors.
The complaint cites poor medical decisions, including the use of unqualified staff, faulty equipment, and delayed care.
It also points to conflicting death certificates and references a medical board investigation, which confirmed massive blood loss and cardiac arrest as the causes of death.
After unsuccessful attempts at an out-of-court settlement, the family is seeking $17 million from JFK Memorial Hospital and $8 million from Dr. Nuahn.
The case has attracted national attention as pretrial hearings draw near.
