London, UK — Liberia’s Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Ambassador Robert Kpadeh, has praised the leadership style of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr., describing his stewardship over the past year and seven months as a restoration of order, dignity, and credibility to the Liberian presidency.
In a statement released Wednesday, Ambassador Kpadeh said President Boakai has conducted the affairs of the state with “character, distinction, maturity, transparency, and accountability,” qualities he believes have elevated Liberia’s image both at home and abroad.
According to the Liberian diplomat, the Executive Mansion has seen a revival of discipline and productivity since President Boakai assumed office. He noted that cabinet meetings are held regularly, ministries and agencies are routinely evaluated, and the President personally contributes to the drafting and editing of official speeches.
“President Boakai is a structured and thorough editor, a good writer and even a poet, with a keen taste for literature,” Kpadeh remarked, stressing that the President’s hands-on approach ensures that the government’s message remains clear, consistent, and credible.
Kpadeh highlighted Boakai’s work ethic, pointing out that the President spends 10 to 12 hours in office daily, including weekends and holidays, where he often retreats to his Tubmanburg residence to review state papers and international correspondence.
He further described Boakai as a “listening President” who takes time to weigh decisions carefully based on facts rather than sentiments. While some critics argue that his approach may seem slow, Kpadeh maintained that it reflects a leader committed to thoroughness and responsibility.
On the international stage, the Liberian envoy said President Boakai has earned renewed respect for the country, citing the honor and recognition accorded him during foreign visits. “He carries himself honorably, is level-headed, cool-tempered, mentally sound, physically fit, and emotionally mature,” Kpadeh stated, adding that the President has not taken a single leisure trip or presidential leave since assuming office.
Kpadeh’s remarks came as President Boakai met with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba earlier today in Yokohama, Japan, ahead of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD).
The bilateral engagement underscored Liberia’s growing international partnerships under Boakai’s leadership.
“With President Boakai at the helm, Liberia is once again on the path of credibility and progress,” Kpadeh concluded, noting that a comprehensive account of the President’s accomplishments in less than two years will soon be documented.
