The detachment of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency(LDEA) in Grand Gedeh County is currently investigation 37 years old drug suspect Anthony Nyenow.
Suspect Nyenow was arrested by the Liberian National Police on Sunday March 23, 2025.
According to an update from the Liberian Drug Enforcement Agency, the suspect was arrested with two wraps of cocaine, three wraps of kush with total street value of $20 USD and LRD 3,800.
“The illegal substances were discovered hidden in a loaf of bread at the police headquarters. During the investigation conducted by the LDEA, the suspect admitted to the crime.” The LDEA said.
He confessed that he was sent by individuals identified as Erka Biom and Agogo from the Biom Quarter Community to deliver the drugs to a suspect held in the police withholding cell.
Based on this confession, the LDEA is actively pursuing all necessary efforts to locate and investigate the individuals named by the suspect.
Suspect Nyenow has been formally charged with Unlicensed Possession of Controlled Drugs and was forwarded to court on March 25, 2025, where he awaits trial.
