He noted that the initiative reflects a practical approach to development, particularly in addressing long-standing challenges in road connectivity and rural access.
According to the Lofa County lawmaker, the equipment will play a critical role in rehabilitating highways and opening farm-to-market roads across the country.
The Senator emphasized that improved road networks are vital to reducing transportation costs, strengthening agricultural value chains, and enhancing food security — especially in rural counties where farmers often struggle to move produce to markets.
Senator Cyrus further linked the initiative to the government’s ARREST Agenda, describing infrastructure development as a key pillar in promoting decentralization, job creation, economic resilience, and inclusive growth.
He stressed that better roads will not only ease access to markets but also expand opportunities for education, healthcare delivery, and other essential public services.
Reflecting on the situation in Lofa County, Senator Cyrus said residents are expressing renewed hope and excitement following the arrival of the machines.
For decades, he noted, many communities have endured deplorable road conditions and seasonal isolation, particularly during the rainy season.
He described the development as a long-awaited intervention that restores public confidence in the government’s ability to deliver tangible improvements.
As a member of the National Legislature, Senator Cyrus reaffirmed his commitment to working with the Executive Branch to advance the country’s development priorities.
Senator Cyrus pledged legislative collaboration, policy backing, and strict oversight to ensure the effective and transparent use of public resources.
The Lofa County Senator concluded by underscoring the importance of sustained cooperation between the Executive and Legislative branches, stating that unity in governance remains essential to building a more connected, productive, and resilient Liberia.
