Chief Justice Gbeisay Launches Sweeping Credential Audit Across Judiciary

By: Contributor

TEMPLE OF JUSTICE – Chief Justice Yamie Quiqui Gbeisay, Sr. has officially launched a week-long Credential Audit and Personnel Verification across the Judiciary Branch of Government, in partnership with the Civil Service Agency (CSA). The exercise runs from Thursday, August 28, through Thursday, September 4, 2025.

The audit targets judges, magistrates, court administrators, and support staff in Montserrado County’s 1st and 6th Judicial Circuits. Its objectives are to verify the presence of judiciary employees on government payroll and to confirm that all personnel possess the required academic qualifications and professional experience.

Chief Justice Gbeisay, who assumed office on August 15, reaffirmed his commitment to reform, accountability, and the continuation of the Judiciary’s Rebranding Program.

“We will conduct credential audits to ensure that all staff have the required academic qualification and experience to effectively perform their assigned duties,” he said during his induction.

CSA Verification Teams

The CSA has deployed three teams to conduct simultaneous verifications:

  • Team A – Temple of Justice: Covers all Temple of Justice staff and the West Point Magisterial Court.
  • Team B – Paynesville Magisterial Court: Covers Paynesville, Omega, Careysburg, Bensonville, and Todee Magisterial Courts.
  • Team C – Gardnersville Magisterial Court: Covers Gardnersville, Bushrod Island, Brewerville, and Arthington Magisterial Courts.

Judiciary employees must present original academic credentials and a valid National Identification Card. The release warns that failure to comply will result in “severe administrative consequences.”

A Step Toward Integrity

The initiative has been welcomed as a timely measure to address concerns about unqualified staff and payroll irregularities, while strengthening efficiency and accountability. Chief Justice Gbeisay thanked the CSA for its partnership, describing the audit as a clear step toward restoring public trust in Liberia’s Judiciary.
