Monrovia – Reigning LFA First Division champions FC Fassell kicked off their 2025/26 campaign in perfect fashion, edging Heaven Eleven 1–0 in a tightly contested opener at the SKD Practice Pitch (Annex). This marks the third time the Messenger has been beaten by the same scoreline.
The Soccer Missionaries wasted no time proving why they’re considered major contenders this season.
A strike from Mennto Sayon was enough to separate the sides and secure all three points for the defending champions.
Though efforts from the Messenger of Heaven Eleven to level the match in the second half did not materialize, FC Fassell’s disciplined defense and game management ensured that Sayon’s goal remained the decisive moment.
With this victory, FC Fassell have set the tone for what they hope will be another dominant season in Liberia’s top flight.
