Monrovia, Liberia – In celebration of this year’s Children’s Day, the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection will lead a high-level delegation on Monday, November 18, to distribute educational materials to several schools across Montserrado County.
The outreach highlights the Government’s commitment to creating a nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.
As part of the initiative, the Minister and her team, under the SAVE THE FUTURE PROJECT—formerly known as the “STREET CHILD PROJECT”—will visit selected schools, engage with students and administrators, and present essential learning supplies.
The symbolic gesture is aimed at supporting classroom instruction while promoting the Ministry’s broader vision of child welfare and educational development.

Speaking on the significance of the event, Ministry officials emphasized that Children’s Day celebrations extend beyond festivities.
They serve as a reminder of the rights, protection, and empowerment that every child deserves.
Monday’s distribution exercise is part of a series of activities planned throughout the week to commemorate the occasion.
The SAVE THE FUTURE PROJECT has already impacted 13,591 children, including 6,669 girls and 6,922 boys, with 404 children accompanying visually impaired parents.
Among them, 3,405 children have been placed into formal schools, reflecting the project’s continued efforts to expand access to education.

In addition to Government support, several organizations, including UNICEF Liberia, the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC), and Orange GSM, have contributed educational materials to the Ministry through the SAVE THE FUTURE PROJECT, strengthening the initiative’s reach and impact.
The Ministry has reiterated its commitment to ensuring that children across Liberia are provided with the tools, support, and protection they need to succeed academically and socially, underlining education as a cornerstone for national development.
