Bong County – Day One of the 2025 Liberia Kickball Federation (LKF) National Playoffs ended in drama and excitement, with 14 teams battling fiercely at the David Kuyon Sports Stadium in Gbarnga, Bong County.
The opening round of the NLA-LKF National 2nd Division Championship and Promotional Playoff brought heartbreak for Margibi County’s Fuamah Girls KC, who suffered a crushing 12-0 defeat at the hands of Bong County champions, T-Destiny Sisters KC. The heavy loss marked the worst in Fuamah’s history, setting a grim tone for their debut campaign.
T-Destiny Sisters’ 12 home runs tied the all-time record set by Watanga Girls KC of Montserrado, who also scored 12 against Destiny KC of Grand Bassa in a previous edition.
The day’s matches largely showcased the dominance of Bong and Montserrado County teams. Ask Sisters 2 blanked Determine Girls 5-0 to book a spot in the next phase, while Leela secured three points with a narrow win over Nimba United. Watanga Girls displayed ruthless form, dismantling Young United 9-0.
One of the most anticipated clashes saw Ecclesia and Gbehzohn Girls fight to a thrilling 2-2 draw, while Neatoh KC demolished Destiny Bassa 12-0. Noble Girls also cruised past Surprise KC with a convincing 4-0 victory.
With Fuamah Girls KC and Surprise KC both from Margibi County enduring heavy defeats, fans and analysts alike are questioning the teams’ preparation and readiness for the competition.
As the playoffs continue this Thursday, August 21, 2025, the spotlight remains on the powerhouse teams from Bong and Montserrado, who have already stamped their authority on the tournament.
