MONROVIA – Liberia and Rwanda have taken a historic step toward deeper bilateral cooperation with the signing of two landmark agreements aimed at strengthening ties between the two nations.
The ceremony took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Monrovia, with officials from both governments present to witness the historic occasion.
The first agreement established a Joint Permanent Commission of Cooperation (JPCC), providing a formal platform for collaboration in politics, trade, education, agriculture, health, and cultural exchange.
The JPCC is expected to foster knowledge sharing, investment, and development projects that will benefit citizens in both countries.
The second agreement introduced a Reciprocal Visa Waiver, allowing Liberians and Rwandans to travel freely between the two countries without visas.
This initiative is expected to boost tourism, encourage business partnerships, and promote people-to-people connections.
Speaking at the event, Liberia’s Foreign Minister, H.E. Sara Beysolow Nyanti, described the agreements as “a strong demonstration of African unity, solidarity, and the shared vision of progress.”
She affirmed Liberia’s commitment to working with Rwanda to advance peace, stability, and prosperity across the continent.
Rwanda’s Foreign Minister also praised Liberia for its commitment to stronger ties, noting that the agreements lay the foundation for “mutual respect, trust, and long-term cooperation.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs assured the public that both agreements will be fully implemented, ensuring citizens of both countries experience the tangible benefits of this new partnership.
This historic signing signals a future of closer cooperation and shared growth between Liberia and Rwanda, reinforcing the idea that African nations can achieve more through unity and collaboration.
