LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM – Liberia’s Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Ambassador Robert Kpadeh, has announced the strengthening of diplomatic and maritime cooperation between Liberia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia following a bilateral meeting with his Saudi counterpart.
Ambassador Kpadeh hosted His Excellency Kamal M. Al Junaidi, the Saudi Permanent Representative to the IMO, at the offices of the Liberia Permanent Mission in London.
The two envoys held substantive discussions centered on enhancing mutual cooperation and collaboration in maritime affairs, a key area of shared interest between the two nations.
“It was an honor to receive my friend and brother, H.E. Junaidi, at our Mission,” said Ambassador Kpadeh. “Our talks focused on mutual cooperation and collaboration on maritime affairs, and I look forward to continuing this dialogue in the spirit of friendship and solidarity.”
The Ambassador further noted that he intends to return the courtesy by visiting the Saudi mission in the near future to advance discussions and explore practical avenues for joint action within the maritime sector.
Liberia’s Alternate Permanent Representative to the IMO and Chair of the all-powerful Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) was in attendance during the meeting.
The meeting underscores Liberia’s ongoing commitment to international cooperation within the IMO framework, particularly with member states that share strategic maritime priorities.
“Duty honors country,” Ambassador Kpadeh concluded, emphasizing Liberia’s dedication to representing its national interests through constructive diplomacy and multilateral engagement.
