MONROVIA – Liberia’s campaign in the 2025 CAF inter-club competitions has come to a close, with both Blackman Warrior FC and FC Fassell crashing out in the second leg of their respective matches.
In the CAF Confederation Cup, Blackman Warrior fell 4–1 to Coton FC, after holding the Cameroonian side to a goalless draw in Monrovia. Coton netted twice in the first half and added two more after the break to seal a dominant victory.
Meanwhile, in the CAF Champions League, FC Fassell were defeated 3–0 by MC Alger, who capitalized on their home advantage to comfortably progress to the next round.
Despite the disappointing results, football observers say both clubs gained valuable exposure to the intensity and challenges of continental football.
The experience, they note, highlights the need for refined technical execution, improved structures, and stronger support systems to ensure better results in the future.
While this year ends in early elimination, analysts believe the margins are narrowing—and with investment and preparation, Liberia’s clubs can rise to the challenge in seasons ahead.
