BONG COUNTY – Liberia’s outgoing Chief Justice, Sie-A-Nyene Gyapay Yuoh, has urged judges and magistrates in Bong, Nimba, and Lofa counties to remain unwavering in their commitment to upholding the rule of law and executing their duties with the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

Chief Justice Yuoh made the call on Wednesday, June 11, during a one-day judicial engagement held at the 9th Judicial Circuit Court in Bong County.

The forum brought together judicial officers from the three counties to discuss the challenges and responsibilities facing the judiciary amid ongoing efforts to strengthen the justice system.

In her address, Chief Justice Yuoh highlighted the vital role of the judiciary in maintaining public trust and ensuring equitable access to justice for all Liberians. She urged judicial officers to resist undue influence and to administer justice impartially—without fear or favor.

She also stressed the importance of continuous legal education and capacity-building, noting that a well-informed and principled judiciary is essential for protecting citizens’ rights and promoting good governance.

The engagement forms part of a broader initiative by the Supreme Court aimed at enhancing judicial accountability and improving the delivery of justice throughout Liberia’s counties.

As she prepares to conclude her tenure, Chief Justice Yuoh’s remarks serve as a reaffirmation of the enduring values that underpin Liberia’s justice system.

Participants at the event expressed gratitude for her leadership and pledged to uphold the principles she has championed throughout her time in office.
