Monrovia The Liberia National Police (LNP) has identified three individuals as persons of interest in connection with violent incidents that marred a protest held in Monrovia on Tuesday.

According to the Police, Mr. Mulbah Morlu, Mr. Alvin Wesseh, and Mr. Archie Pompom are being sought to assist with an ongoing investigation into acts of violence that disrupted public order, endangered lives, and caused damage to property during the protest.

In a statement, the LNP said its investigation is being conducted in a professional, evidence-based, and impartial manner, consistent with the laws of the Republic of Liberia.

The Police have requested that the named individuals voluntarily report to the Central Police Headquarters in Monrovia to provide information relevant to the probe.

The LNP warned that failure to comply with the request would compel the Police to exercise their statutory authority to effect arrests, in line with due process.

While condemning the violence, the Police reiterated their respect for the constitutional rights of citizens to peaceful assembly and freedom of expression, stressing that such rights must be exercised without intimidation, destruction of property, or threats to public safety.

The LNP also reassured the public that it is handling the matter with restraint and respect for human rights, as part of its commitment to accountability, transparency, and building community trust.

Meanwhile, the Police have called on all citizens and protest organizers to remain peaceful and law-abiding, especially during the festive season, as security agencies continue efforts to ensure a safe and stable environment nationwide.
