MONROVI A – The third and final phase of the Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) training at the Liberia National Elections Commission (NEC) headquarters on 9th Street, Sinkor, is drawing to a close.
The National Elections Commission says over the course of the training, 27 NEC staff members have been rigorously prepared to manage and operate the BVR system, a critical component of Liberia’s upcoming elections.
“Today, the trainees sat for their final assessment at the James M. Fromoyan Hall, marking the culmination of this intensive program. The test results will serve as a key factor in appraising the staff’s readiness and proficiency,” the statement posted on the Facebook page of the institution said.
Following the successful completion of the assessments, formal certification for the NEC personnel is scheduled to take place next month.
This event will coincide with the official handover of the BVR kits to NEC Liberia by Laxton 3D Technologies, the company responsible for supplying the advanced registration equipment.
The BVR system is expected to enhance the accuracy and transparency of Liberia’s voter registration process, ensuring that all eligible voters are properly registered ahead of the national elections.
