Senator Snowe Breaks Ground for Modern Health Clinic in Dewein District

NATIONAL NEWS

Bomi County – Bomi County Senator Edwin Melvin Snowe Jr. has officially broken ground for the construction of a modern health clinic in Weajor Town, Dewein District, as part of activities marking his birthday.

The ceremony drew a large turnout of residents, traditional leaders, youth groups, and women’s organizations, all gathered to witness what many described as a significant milestone for the community’s healthcare system.

Addressing the audience, Senator Snowe said the project aims to tackle the long-standing healthcare challenges faced by residents of Dewein District, where access to basic medical services has historically been limited.

He noted that people have often been forced to travel long distances for treatment, frequently under difficult conditions.

“The new clinic will help close that gap by bringing essential healthcare services closer to our people,” Senator Snowe said. “This project is about making healthcare accessible. No community should be deprived of basic medical attention because of its location.”

He revealed that construction will commence immediately and is expected to be completed within a short timeframe. Importantly, Senator Snowe emphasized that the clinic is being funded entirely from his personal resources, not government funds, as a way of giving back to the people of Bomi County.

“I chose to celebrate my birthday by investing in the health and well-being of the people who entrusted me with leadership,” he added.

Residents of Weajor and neighboring towns welcomed the initiative, describing it as a timely and practical solution to the healthcare difficulties they have faced for years.

Local leaders also commended the Senator for undertaking what they called a people-centered, impactful project, expressing optimism that the clinic will bring lasting improvements to healthcare delivery in the district.

Once completed, the facility is expected to serve Weajor Town and surrounding communities, easing the pressure on distant health centers and improving public health outcomes across Dewein District.
