VP Koung Warns Against Violence, Invective, Divisive behavior Ahead of Nimba By-Election Day

Nimba County – Vice President Jeremiah Koung, is calling on the young people of his native Nimba county to remain united during and after the upcoming Nimba County by-election.

During his community engagement tour on Tuesday, VP Koung urged the young people to avoid violence, invective, and divisive behavior in their political support.

“As politicians, we often collaborate in Monrovia, and I cannot allow you, as young individuals, to jeopardize your future by engaging in conflict or attacking one another’s families and leaders in the name of defending a candidate. Remember, politics is transient,” he stated.

According to a statement posted on the VP Office official page, Mr. Koung on Friday, April 11, 2025 began his community engagement tour to inspect several projects he initiated while serving as Senator of Nimba County.

During this tour, he broke ground for a bridge project in Nimba District #8 and donated bags of cement to communities in Districts #1, #2, and #8.

He also pledged to initiate additional projects across the county starting in 2026.

Throughout his tour, Vice President Koung visited communities including Duo, Kpein, Bunadin, Slarpea, Gbei Sealah, Garr Busie, Garr Dangamon, and Neegbin, among others.

Additionally, he encouraged the citizens of Nimba County to support Hon. Samuel G. Kogar in the upcoming Nimba Senatorial by-election scheduled for April 22, 2025.
