BUCHANAN CITY – The 2024/2025 season of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) has concluded with thrilling outcomes and historic achievements for several teams across the country.

Wein Town FC has earned promotion to the LFA National Second Division League after edging Golden Dream FC 5–4 in a nail-biting penalty shootout. The match, played at the Doris Williams Sports Pitch in Buchanan, ended 1–1 after regular time.

After a goalless first half, Kollie Jallah gave Wein Town the lead early in the second period, but Golden Dream’s Marvin Davis leveled shortly after, forcing the contest into penalties.

Jubilation erupted among fans from Margibi as Wein Town sealed promotion. In contrast, heartbreak was visible on the faces of Golden Dream FC players and supporters as they fell just short of making history.

Paris FC of Grand Gedeh and Susa FC of Margibi also secured qualification to the Second Division, rounding out an exciting set of promotions.

Small Town, Falconets Earn Promotion to Upper Women’s League

In the women’s division, Falconets FC and Small Town FC have earned their places in the Liberia Football Association Upper Women’s League after impressive performances in the semi-final playoffs.

Over the weekend at the SKD Practice Pitch in Paynesville, Small Town FC edged Republic FC 2–1 in a tightly contested encounter.

Midfielder Grace Vonzia opened the scoring for Small Town FC, giving them an early advantage. Lovettee Dahn doubled the lead with a composed finish, while Republic FC’s defender Idell Seh pulled one back — but it was not enough to stop Small Town from securing promotion.

Falconets FC also won their semi-final fixture to guarantee a spot in the top-tier women’s league.

These promotions mark a major step
