During the discussion, Ambassador Yin briefed Minister Giddings on the outcomes of China’s recent national political gatherings — the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference — which set out the country’s policy priorities and development direction for the coming year.
He also highlighted preparations for the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges, an initiative aimed at strengthening cultural, educational, and professional ties between China and African nations.
“China remains ready to strengthen practical exchanges and deepen cooperation with Liberia, particularly with the Ministry of Public Works,” Ambassador Yin said. “Through stronger partnership and mutual support, both countries can advance shared development goals and expand opportunities for their people.”
Ambassador Yin further noted that China values its longstanding relationship with Liberia and remains committed to supporting projects that contribute to the country’s infrastructure development and economic progress.
In response, Minister Giddings thanked China for its continued partnership and support to Liberia’s development efforts.
“The Government and people of Liberia are grateful for China’s longstanding support to our national development,” Minister Giddings said. “We look forward to expanding cooperation with China in areas such as infrastructure development, technical training, and knowledge exchange to help advance Liberia’s development agenda.”
Minister Giddings said sustained collaboration between the two countries will help improve Liberia’s road network, public facilities, and other critical infrastructure needed to support economic growth.
The meeting highlights the ongoing partnership between Liberia and China, with both sides expressing a renewed commitment to strengthening cooperation in areas that support national development and improve the lives of citizens.
