Bomi Drags Construction Company to Court Over Alleged Contract Breach

By: Gabriel M C Parker

Bomi County – The Local Leadership of Bomi County has taken the Trust Engineering and Construction Company at the Tubmanburg Magisterial Court for an alleged breach of contract.

According to County Development Officer Alfred Zinnah, the company was awarded a contract worth forty-four thousand six hundred and forty United States dollars (USD 44,640) to construct a modern football fence at the Gbah Jacket Sports Pitch in Senjeh District.

Mr. Zinnah revealed that the Trust Engineering and Construction Company, headed by its Chief Executive Officer Jefferson Weafar, won the bid and was paid fifty percent of the total amount as an initial payment to commence work on the project.

According to him, since awarding the contract in 2023, the company is yet to complete even the first phase of the project, which has raised concerns among the county’s local authorities.

The County Development Officer further stated that multiple efforts have been made to reach out to Mr. Weafar regarding the delay, but all attempts have proven futile.

Due to the company’s alleged failure to fulfill its contractual obligations, the county leadership was left with no option but to seek legal redress to ensure accountability and transparency in the use of public funds.

The case is currently before the Tubmanburg Magisterial Court, and residents of Bomi County are eagerly watching to see the outcome of this legal action.
