European Union Calls for Peaceful Election in Nimba

MONROVIA – The European Union in Liberia is encouraging all stakeholders to abide by the terms of the Farmington River Declaration and all relevant laws to foster a credible, fair, inclusive, and peaceful process.

The 2023 Revised Farmington River Declaration is a pledge to work for peaceful elections, applicable to all electoral stakeholders.

“As Nimba heads to the by election on April 22, 2025, we encourage all stakeholders to abide by the terms of the Farmington River Declaration and all relevant laws to foster a credible, free, fair, inclusive and peaceful process.” The statement said.

Meanwhile, the international community commended the National Elections Commission, the Liberia National Police and all security agencies for the work done so far.

The EU then urged all institutions to remain impartial to build confidence in a credible and successful electoral process.

The International Community also wants all citizens to play their role in forging further democratic gains in Liberia.
