Bong County Set to Celebrate Kickball Excellence at 2nd Division Award Night

Gbarnga, Bong CountyThe Bong County Chapter of the Liberia National Kickball Federation (LKF) is gearing up for its highly anticipated 2nd Division League Award Night, scheduled forSaturday, July 12, 2025, at the Gbarnga Administrative Building.

According to a press release, the day-long celebration will kick off with a series of friendly kickball matches at the David Kuyon Sports Stadium, setting the stage for a day of sports, honor, and community pride.

A highlight of the day will be a grand parade led by Brave Warriors FC, champions of the Bong County 3rd Division Football League. They will honor the LKF 2nd Division champions with a guard of respect.

This ceremonial march will be followed by an exciting exhibition match between LKF members and coaches from Bong and Nimba Counties, as well as a faceoff between the 1st and 2nd place kickball teams from both counties.

Evening of Celebration and Recognition

The formal Award Night Ceremony begins at 7:30 PM and runs until 10:00 PM, recognizing the outstanding achievements of teams and individuals during the 2025 season.

The event is proudly sponsored by the Liberia Kickball Federation, prominent sons and daughters of Bong County, and Hon. Bill McGill Jones, Deputy Minister for Administration at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.

Award Categories

Among the highlights of the evening will be recognition of the top-performing clubs:

  • 1st Place: T. Destiny Sisters Kickball Club
  • 2nd Place: Ayounda Kickball Club
  • 3rd Place (3rd Division): Blue Eagle Kickball Club

Additional award categories include:

  • Best Pitcher
  • Most Valuable Player (MVP)
  • Best Referee
  • Best Home Run Player
  • Best Statistician
  • Most Talented Team
  • Most Disciplined Team
  • Best Fair Play Team
  • Best Administrator

Veteran sports journalists and Old Timers teams will also be honored for their longstanding contributions to the growth and promotion of kickball in Liberia.

Kickball Fundraiser Launched

As part of the festivities, the Liberia Kickball Federation will launch a L$2 million fundraising campaign to support the development and expansion of kickball programs across Bong County.

The event is expected to draw a distinguished lineup of guests, including Deputy Minister Andy Quamie, Hon. Bill McGill Jones, Johnny Kpehe, and other notable sons and daughters of Bong County.

Held under the theme “Let’s Grow Kickball in Bong,” the celebration promises to be an unforgettable moment of unity, culture, and recognition—showcasing the growing power of women’s sports in Liberia.
