MONROVIA – In a significant step toward advancing regional transport integration, Liberia’s Minister of Transport, Hon. Sirleaf Ralph Tyler, and his Guinean counterpart, Hon. Felix Lamah, have reaffirmed their countries’ shared commitment to strengthening both bilateral and regional transportation systems across West Africa.

The high-level meeting took place on May 8, 2025, at the Ministry of Transport in Monrovia, where Minister Tyler formally welcomed the Guinean delegation.

In his opening remarks, Minister Tyler emphasized Liberia’s unwavering readiness to collaborate with fellow West African nations to enhance land, sea, and air connectivity—vital pillars for economic growth and regional development.

“Liberia is forever ready to work with her West African counterparts to improve land, sea, and air transport across the region,” Minister Tyler affirmed.

He underscored the strategic importance of regional transport integration as a catalyst for unlocking economic potential, improving mobility, and fostering unity among ECOWAS member states.

Speaking on behalf of the Government of Liberia, Minister Tyler extended sincere gratitude to Minister Lamah for the visit and reiterated Liberia’s willingness to deepen bilateral ties with Guinea through collaborative infrastructure projects, joint policy development, and mutual knowledge exchange.

In response, Guinean Minister of Transport Hon. Felix Lamah expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Liberian government and people for their warm hospitality.

He commended Minister Tyler’s leadership and affirmed Guinea’s commitment to working closely with Liberia to craft cohesive and future-forward transport policies for mutual and regional benefit.

“This visit is a clear signal of our shared commitment to building better transportation systems for our people,” Minister Lamah stated. “Guinea remains eager to deepen cooperation with Liberia as we work together to make transport safer, more efficient, and more accessible.”

The diplomatic engagement between the two nations represents another key milestone in promoting cross-border cooperation aimed at modernizing infrastructure, facilitating trade, and advancing regional integration throughout West Africa.

The visit also highlights the Liberian Ministry of Transport’s proactive diplomatic strategy and its broader vision to establish Liberia as a pivotal hub in regional connectivity.
