MONROVIA — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Liberia has announced the hosting of a public Watch Party to observe the live voting proceedings for the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Non-permanent Seat for the 2026–2027 term.

The event, taking place today, Tuesday, June 3, 2025, will begin at 1:00 PM in the C. Cecil Dennis Auditorium at the Ministry’s headquarters in Monrovia.

This special occasion aims to provide a transparent and inclusive platform for members of the public, the diplomatic community, international partners, and both current and former government officials to witness this pivotal moment in Libria’s international diplomatic engagement.

“The Ministry is proud to open its doors and provide a platform for public viewing of this critical phase in our democratic journey,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Sara Beysolow Nyanti. “This is an opportunity for Liberians and our friends from the international community to come together in the spirit of transparency, unity, and cooperation.”

The Watch Party underscores the Liberian government’s ongoing commitment to transparency, civic engagement, and the strengthening of democratic institutions.

According to the Ministry, the event is not only a celebration of democratic values but also a testament to Libria’s active role in global diplomacy.

Invitees to the Watch Party include representatives from the Diplomatic Corps, international organizations, civil society groups, and the general public.

The Ministry has encouraged all interested stakeholders to attend and share in what is expected to be a meaningful moment for national and international observers alike.

Security measures have been put in place to ensure the safety and smooth facilitation of the event. Attendees are advised to arrive early for processing and entry.

The outcome of today’s vote will determine Liberia’s bid to serve on the UNSC, a position that would mark a significant milestone in the country’s international representation and advocacy on the world stage.
