MONTSERRADO COUNTYRepresentative Prince A. Toles of Montserrado County District #8 has launched three major development initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, promoting youth empowerment, and boosting economic growth in the Capitol Hill area.

The projects include: renovation and expansion of a community basketball court, construction of a multipurpose town hall with a digital reading center for children and the establishment of a community car wash to create jobs and foster entrepreneurship.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, which drew residents, youth leaders, and local officials, Rep. Toles reaffirmed his commitment to sustainable development and youth advancement in the district.

The first initiative involves a complete overhaul of the district’s basketball court, including a new playing surface, upgraded sports infrastructure, and expanded seating capacity for community events.

“This court will be more than just a play area—it will be a safe and inspiring environment where our young people can thrive and build community spirit,” Toles said.

A new town hall is also planned, which will include a digital reading center to give children access to technology and online learning tools. The facility will serve as both a meeting space and an educational hub.

“This is an investment in our children’s future,” said Toles. “Early education and access to technology must start at the community level.”

To address youth unemployment, Toles announced the construction of a community-run car wash. The initiative will provide income-generating opportunities for local youth and promote small-scale entrepreneurship.

“Too many of our young people lack employment,” he said. “This car wash is a step toward meaningful, self-sustained livelihoods.”

During the ceremony, Rep. Toles also presented a symbolic check for 250,000 Liberian Dollars to support small business owners in the district—part of his broader effort to strengthen the local economy through micro-enterprise support.
