The announcement signals Senator Joseph’s continued interest in the development of football in Liberia, a sector in which he has been actively involved for decades at both the club and national levels.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Senator Joseph highlighted his experience in sports development and leadership, citing his roles as Chief Executive Officer and President of Gardnersville FC, as well as his previous tenure as President of the historic Invincible Eleven Football Club.
“Given my extensive involvement in the development of sports nationwide, coupled with my roles as the CEO and President of Gardnersville FC, and my previous tenure as President of Liberia’s renowned Invincible Eleven football club, I wish to formally declare my intention to participate in the LFA Elective Congress scheduled for April as an aspiring member of the Executive Committee,” Senator Joseph stated.
As a sitting Senator and leader of the PAP, Joseph has consistently emphasized national development, including advocacy for sports infrastructure, youth engagement, and governance reforms within football administration.
His leadership of Invincible Eleven, one of Liberia’s most storied football clubs, has further strengthened his standing among players, coaches, and football stakeholders.
Under his current leadership, Gardnersville FC has emerged as a platform for grassroots talent development, with the club focusing on youth empowerment and community cohesion.
The upcoming LFA Elective Congress comes at a critical time for Liberian football, as the association continues to address challenges related to administrative stability, governance reforms, and international competitiveness.
Although Senator Joseph has yet to publicly outline a detailed campaign platform, sources close to his team say his bid is expected to prioritize revitalizing youth leagues, improving stadium safety standards, enhancing transparency in LFA operations, and strengthening partnerships with regional and international football bodies.
The outcome of the April Congress is expected to play a significant role in shaping the future direction of football governance in Liberia.
