SINOE COUNTY – A young man, believed to be in his early 20s, has reportedly died from a suspected drug overdose in the Seaside community of Butaw District. The incident occurred on July 15, 2025, at approximately 5 p.m.
According to eyewitnesses, the deceased—whose identity has not yet been released—was well known in the area as a frequent drug user.
Community members told our reporter that the young man began behaving erratically shortly after allegedly consuming a substance believed to be “Kush,” a synthetic drug that has been gaining popularity among youth in the county. Moments later, he collapsed and was later confirmed dead.
While local authorities have not officially determined the cause of death, residents strongly suspect it was due to a drug overdose.
The incident has once again raised serious concerns about the escalating drug crisis in Sinoe County.
This tragic case adds to a growing number of similar incidents. Earlier this month, three suspected Kush-related deaths were reported in Government Camp, District Two.
Community leaders and residents are now calling for urgent government intervention to combat the spread of dangerous substances and prevent further loss of life.
Authorities are said to be investigating the incident, and the public is awaiting a formal statement regarding the cause of death.
