Explosive Revelation: INCHR Boss Accuses Top Officials of Drug Dealing

MONROVIA – The Chairperson of the Independent National Commission on Human Rights (INCHR), Cllr. Dempster Brown, has made explosive allegations, accusing ranking officials within the Boakai administration of being involved in drug trafficking.

Speaking at a press conference in Monrovia, Cllr. Brown said that while President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s intentions to combat illicit drug trafficking may be genuine, his efforts are being undermined by individuals within his inner circle, whom he claims are using the drug trade to raise funds for the 2029 elections.

“There are people who are around today—some of the government officials—who are involved in the issue of drugs,” Cllr. Brown alleged.

Although he did not name specific officials, Brown asserted that their involvement in the drug trade is a major obstacle to the government’s ability to effectively curtail the importation and distribution of narcotics.

“The President is the last hope—the belief the people have, and that is why they voted for him. But the people around him are destroying him,” he said.

“Many of the people close to the President are in the drug business, but they go to him and lie. The President cannot succeed in the fight against drugs if government officials have their hands in the business.”

The allegations, if proven, could significantly undermine public trust in the administration’s anti-drug initiatives and raise serious concerns about corruption at the highest levels of government.

So far, the presidency has not officially responded to Cllr. Brown’s claims.
