PAYNESVILLE – The Liberia Kickball Federation (LKF) National League concluded its 2025 season on Sunday, August 10, at the SKD Sports Pitch in Paynesville, with an exciting championship ceremony that marked the official end of the campaign.

In League One, Royal Sisters emerged as champions, finishing six points clear of rivals Asks Sisters at the top of the table.

Meanwhile, in League Two, Neatoh Kickball Club claimed the championship title after a dramatic final against Leela Kickball Club. Despite entering the match with lower expectations, particularly in the Lottery Cup, Neatoh delivered a stunning performance.

Neatoh KC took an early lead, dominating the opening minutes with 6-0 home runs that immediately put Leela on the back foot. Although Leela attempted a comeback, showing determination and skill, they ultimately fell short. Despite finishing the regular season with 46 points compared to Neatoh’s 44, the five-inning final ended in Neatoh’s favor, allowing them to lift the coveted League Cup.

A late surge from Leela created pressure, but Neatoh held their ground, sealing a hard-fought victory and securing the prestigious championship. The match will be remembered for its high intensity, dramatic momentum shifts, and Neatoh’s impressive turnaround performance.

Before securing their spot in the final, Neatoh had played 16 matches—winning 14 and drawing 2—while Leela had an even more impressive record of 15 wins and 1 draw from their 16 games.

Fans and analysts alike have debated the outcome, acknowledging the talent and depth on both sides. The suspense and quality of play throughout the final only reinforced the competitive spirit of the 2025 league season.

Leela KC President, Madusu Kromah, expressed pride in her team’s overall performance, noting that this year’s championship was part of a well-thought-out strategy following their earlier loss to Destiny Montserrado in the Lottery Cup. She assured fans that Leela is preparing strongly for the upcoming playoffs.

The championship event brought together kickball lovers, stakeholders, and members of the Federation’s Executive Committee. This year also marked a significant milestone for the sport in Liberia, with the Liberia Lottery Authority stepping in as the league’s primary sponsor.

Under the new sponsorship deal, Royal Sisters—as League One champions—will receive 150,000 Liberian Dollars (LRD), while the second-place team will walk away with 100,000 LRD.

The LKF, alongside its partners, continues to make great strides in promoting women’s sports in Liberia. This year’s edition has been widely praised as one of the most competitive and well-supported since the sport’s inception in the country.

Supporters celebrated enthusiastically as Neatoh KC proudly received their well-earned championship trophy, capping off a remarkable season.
