New Delhi, India – The Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Liberia, Dr. Agnes Reeves Taylor, has called for a continued and deepened partnership between state universities in Liberia and India to promote academic excellence and cultural diversity.
Serving as the keynote speaker at a graduation ceremony attended by hundreds of students from around the world—including a notable cohort of Liberian scholars—Dr. Reeves Taylor emphasized the importance of expanding collaboration between the two institutions.
She highlighted opportunities for joint research initiatives, academic exchange programs, and the development of joint degree offerings.
“Today, we witness not just the graduation of individuals, but the realization of a shared vision where young people from different parts of the world come together to learn, grow, and contribute to global development,” she remarked.
Dr. Reeves Taylor’s presence at the event symbolized the strengthening academic ties between Liberia and India. Representing the University of Liberia, she joined university officials, international delegates, and proud families in celebrating the graduates’ achievements, especially the Liberian students who had successfully completed their studies under the inter-university partnership.
She commended the graduates for their dedication and resilience, noting that their accomplishments reflect the transformative power of education and international collaboration.
Dr. Reeves Taylor also praised Sharda University for its commitment to academic excellence and cultural inclusion, expressing optimism about the future of the partnership.
She urged both institutions to renew their commitment to strengthening global academic networks, which she described as vital for the advancement of students in both countries.
“This collaboration should not only continue but be expanded to offer even greater opportunities to students across disciplines,” she added.
The ceremony was marked by vibrant cultural performances, inspirational addresses, and the official conferral of degrees, making it a memorable milestone in the lives of the graduates and in the growing relationship between Liberia and India.
