Monrovia – On March 31, 2025, when he appeared on OK FM, the Chief of Office Staff to former President Weah, Eugene Nagbe accused the Director of the Executive Protection Service of having a photo in his bedroom depicting a gun at former President Weah.
The accusation levied against the EPS Director sparked public outrage and condemnation from some quarters of the Liberian society.
Weeks after the accusation was made, the legal Counsel to Director Gaye has given Nagbe a forty-eight-hour ultimatum to do a public retraction.
In a communication addressed to Mr. Nagbe on April 9, 2025, former Associate Justice Kabineh M. Ja’neh said the accusation made against Mr. Gaye, although totally untrue, yet have nevertheless resulted to inestimable public shun of Mr. Gaye’s reputation, both nationally and internationally.

“The law in our jurisdiction is that injury may be offered to a person’s reputation when an untrue allegation or defamatory utterance is made against said person which has the tendency to injure the person’s societal standing and public reputation. Such injury can be offered verbally or by sign.” The communication said.
“In view of the foregoing, we are most specifically demanding public retraction of these accusatory and defamatory utterances, within 48 (forty-eight) hours as of the hour and date of the receipt of this communication.” The Ja’neh communication noted.
