MONROVIA – Liberian President Joseph Boakai has held a meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of the National Road Fund of Liberia Joseta Neufville Wento, Sierra Leone’s Road Maintenance Fund Administration CEO Mohamed Kallon and the Chief Executive Officer of the Namibia’s Road Fund Administration Chief Executive Officer John Ali Ipinge.
MR. Mohamed Kallon and John Ali Ipinge are in Liberia as guest of the Liberia National Road Fund CEO Mrs. Joseta Neufville Wento.
The meeting held at the executive Mansion on Wednesday April 30, 2025 is part of ongoing efforts to transition the NRF to a second-generation model.
According to authorities, the transitioning process is aimed at boosting its autonomy, revenue generation, and accountability.
During the meeting, President Boakai described it as “one of the most significant meetings.”

He stressed that Liberia’s 178-year history of poor road connectivity must end and pledged full support for NRF reforms.
The President also announced the establishment of a technical working group tasked with submitting policy reforms for immediate action.
Additionally, he instructed NRF management to compile a list of outstanding debts by petroleum companies for presidential action.
President Boakai declared, “We must open this country through roads.”
Top Road Fund Chief Executive Officers from Sierra Leone and Namibia are in Liberia to support the Liberia National Road Fund transition from a first generation to a second-generation Road Fund.
