MONROVIA – Former Executive Mansion Chief of Protocol Nora Finda Bundoo has been released from detention at the Monrovia Central Prison after the Supreme Court of Liberia ordered her immediate release while it reviews a petition challenging proceedings before Criminal Court “C.”

The order was issued by Associate Justice Yussif D. Kaba, sitting in Chambers, following a petition for a Writ of Prohibition filed by Bundoo through her legal team. The petition seeks to halt further enforcement of Criminal Court “C”‘s rulings pending the Supreme Court’s determination of the matter.
According to an official communication from the Office of the Clerk of the Supreme Court dated July 22, 2026, Justice Kaba has cited Criminal Court “C” Judge Ousman F. Feika to appear at a conference on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. to respond to the issues raised in the petition.
The petition names Judge Feika as the First Respondent, while the Asset Recovery and Property Retrieval Task Force (AREPT), represented by its Chairman Cllr. Edwin K. Martin, along with the Ministry of Justice, are listed as the Second Respondents.
As part of its interim ruling, the Supreme Court directed Judge Feika to release Bundoo into the custody of her lawyers, Cllr. M. Watkins Wright and Cllr. Abraham Wade Simpson, pending the outcome of the August 4 conference.
However, the Court attached a condition to her release, requiring Bundoo to surrender her passport to the Sheriff of Criminal Court “C” until the matter before the Supreme Court is concluded.
The ruling effectively suspends the immediate enforcement of Criminal Court “C”‘s earlier decision that remanded Bundoo to prison after rejecting her second criminal appearance bond and imposing an US$8 million bond in the ongoing corruption case involving the alleged diversion and laundering of millions of dollars in public funds.
Bundoo’s lawyers argue that the lower court acted outside its legal authority and are asking the Supreme Court to prohibit any further enforcement of Judge Feika’s ruling until the legality of those actions has been fully reviewed.
The outcome of the August 4 conference will determine whether the Supreme Court grants the writ sought by Bundoo or allows Criminal Court “C” to continue with the prosecution.
