MONROVIA – The First Judicial Circuit, Criminal Court “C” has remanded Abdullai Kamara, former Chairman of the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA) and current Chief Executive Officer of Tamma Corporation, following his arrest on multiple corruption-related charges.
Kamara’s arrest comes after an indictment filed by the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC), which also names Tamma Corporation’s current CEO, Fabian Laveland, as a co-defendant.
Both men face several serious charges, including economic sabotage, theft of property, misapplication of entrusted property, criminal facilitation, criminal solicitation, and criminal conspiracy.
According to the indictment, Kamara and others are accused of misusing public funds and falsifying official records in violation of the Liberian Penal Code, particularly Sections 15.50 and 15.81.
An arrest warrant dated August 8, 2025, and signed by Judge Ousman F. Feika, instructed Major Austine Seinavula, Sheriff of Montserrado County, to arrest Kamara and bring him before the court during its current August Term.
The charges follow an extensive LACC investigation into Tamma Corporation’s financial dealings during Kamara’s tenure.
Investigators allege that large sums of public money were illegally disbursed and that financial records were deliberately manipulated to conceal the misuse of funds, causing major losses to the state.
The LACC has also held Tamma Corporation liable through its current CEO, Fabian Laveland, further intensifying scrutiny on the company’s leadership and operations.
