The facility was officially opened on Thursday, October 22, 2026, under the government’s decentralization initiative led by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr. and the implementation of the Agency’s five-year strategic plan.

Speaking at the ceremony, CNDRA Director General D. Nelson Bearngar said the new office would reduce transportation difficulties for citizens seeking records management services while strengthening collaboration with county-level institutions and promoting the preservation of public records. He urged staff assigned to the facility to demonstrate integrity, patience, and professionalism in serving the public.

Bearngar also commended Margibi County authorities for their cooperation and praised the county’s reported performance in revenue generation, claiming it had surpassed Nimba County. He encouraged other CNDRA offices across Liberia to intensify efforts to improve government revenue generation.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Richard D. Jah, Coordinator of the Margibi County Service Center, who spoke on behalf of the County Superintendent, welcomed the initiative, describing it as an important step toward reducing the challenges residents face in accessing government services.

CNDRA Director of Programs, Planning and Projects Zouan Worzon said the facility would provide records management guidance, public service information, and coordination support to government institutions in Margibi County.

Worzon added that the initiative aligns with the government’s national budget priorities and the Agency’s implementation plans, with activities expected to be budgeted, monitored, and evaluated for accountability and effectiveness.

The Cotton Tree office adds to the CNDRA’s existing service presence in cities including Buchanan, Kakata, Ganta, Gbarnga, Voinjama, and Tubmanburg.
