In a complaint and caveat addressed to the Nimba Kwado Convention Committee and members of the Nimba Legislative Caucus, the delegates expressed frustration over the failure to begin the elections at the scheduled time of 9:00 a.m.

‎According to the statement dated May 16, 2026, the delegates said that as of 4:55 p.m., the election process had still not commenced, creating uncertainty and tension among participants and stakeholders attending the convention.

‎The delegates noted that the prolonged delay was undermining confidence in the credibility and integrity of the convention process. They stated that many participants had traveled from various locations and sacrificed both time and resources with the expectation that the convention committee would uphold fairness, accountability, and agreed timelines.

‎The group called on the National Elections Convention Committee to immediately address the situation and provide delegates with a clear explanation regarding the delay.

‎The statement further warned that if the elections failed to commence within 10 minutes of the notice, delegates would be compelled to issue an official position on the leadership status of Nimba Kwado in an effort to prevent confusion and uncertainty within the organization.

‎Despite the tension, the delegates reaffirmed their commitment to peace, unity, transparency, and democratic values, while emphasizing that stakeholders deserve timely action and respect throughout the convention process.

‎The complaint was signed by concerned delegates of the Nimba Kwado National Convention and copied to the Nimba Legislative Caucus, the County Superintendent, the Mayor of Sanniquellie, Board Chairs of Nimba Kwado, and all county coordinators.
