MONROVIA – Police Inspector General Gregory Coleman has confirmed that the 14-year-old survivor in the rape case involving the Deputy Minister for Youth Development Bryant McGill was indeed raped.

Speaking at a press conference alongside officials from the Ministries of Justice and Gender, IG Coleman described the case as delicate and emphasized that it must be handled carefully to ensure a prosecution supported by evidence.

According to Director Coleman, the investigation is ongoing. As authorities continue speaking with the survivor, new information may emerge that could lead to the invitation or subpoena of other deputy ministers and employees of the Ministry.

The Inspector General also requested assistance from the United States Embassy for the forensic DNA analysis of the evidence. Additionally, the investigation will seek court subpoenas for call logs from GSM companies.

Director Coleman assured the public that no one is above the law, and anyone linked to the case will be arrested and prosecuted as required.

It has now been almost two weeks since Deputy Minister Bryant McGill was accused of raping the 14-year-old daughter of a colleague at the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
