Grand Gedeh County – The Ministry of Health has confirmed that the six-day-old male infant who went missing over the weekend from the Martha Tubman Memorial Hospital in Zwedru has been found safe and reunited with his mother.

According to the Ministry, the child is in good health.

The Minister of Health expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Liberia National Police and all citizens who provided vigilance and support during the search.

“Your collective response made this successful outcome possible,” she said.

Hospital authorities reported that the infant was taken by an unidentified individual wearing a hijab.

Hospital Administrator Thomas Neewray described the incident as “beyond imagination,” noting that it was the first of its kind at the facility.

Local health workers and community members expressed shock over the incident.

The hospital continues to cooperate fully with investigators to determine exactly what happened and to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

The swift resolution of the case has brought relief to the community and underscores the importance of public cooperation in safeguarding the welfare of vulnerable citizens.
