During the project overview, Surido Executive Director Paul Jayblai highlighted the importance of community involvement. “We did an assessment here, and the people asked us to construct the water system for them,” he said. He added that the initiative is expected to have a long-lasting impact. “I strongly believe that when the people take this project as their own, it will last a longer time,” Jayblai noted.
Grand Cape Mount County Senator Dabbah Varplah also praised the initiative and encouraged residents to take full ownership of the water system. “I’m so excited for this initiative for my people, but I call on the community to take good care of this project,” he remarked.

Local residents expressed their joy and commitment to maintaining the new facility. Many shared that the community has struggled for years to access safe drinking water, making this development particularly significant.
“We are so happy for this water system, and we promise to ensure the security of this project,” one resident declared.
The new water system, with a capacity of 2,000 gallons, is mounted on an elevated platform to ensure reliable access to clean water.
This project represents a major step toward improving the quality of life in the region and underscores the vital collaboration between Surido and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in enhancing community welfare.
