Headed by Deputy Speaker Thomas Fallah, the group known as the National Independent Movement for Boakai (NIMBO) is a conglomeration of individuals from different political persuasions, including members of the opposition Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), independents and other supporters.

Hundreds of supporters dressed in purple regalia marched through Tubman Boulevard to the movement’s new headquarters opposite the Ministry of Health in Congo Town, where they pledged full support for President Boakai’s re-election in 2029.

NIMBO to Support Boakai in 2029

The movement’s founding father, Deputy Speaker Thomas P. Fallah, who currently serves as Deputy Speaker of the 55th Legislature, declared that the movement would campaign across Liberia’s fifteen political subdivisions to ensure President Boakai secures a second term.

Deputy Speaker Fallah told the large gathering on Sunday, May 24, 2026, that NIMBO was established in 2025 with the sole mandate of re-electing President Boakai in 2029.

“This group was established in 2025 with the full mandate of re-electing you in 2029,” he told the crowd.

“Mr. President, in less than one year, you can see what citizens have done without your involvement and without the involvement of your party. A group of Liberians have come together to galvanize support for you,” Fallah added.

The Deputy Speaker emphasized that the movement would not become a liability to either the government or the Unity Party, but would instead mobilize support throughout the country to ensure victory for President Boakai.

He further disclosed that in the coming weeks, delegations of NIMBO would travel to the United States, Canada and Australia to establish branches of the movement in those countries.

President Boakai Lauds Deputy Speaker Fallah

President Joseph Boakai thanked Deputy Speaker Thomas Fallah and members of the National Independent Movement for Boakai for what he described as a strong vision and commitment to national development.

“We have begun to see that this country has all of the goods, and with this kind of support we believe the sky is the limit,” President Boakai stated.

According to the President, his administration has already established a National Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Bank and is also working toward the establishment of a football academy as part of broader youth development initiatives.

Reflecting on infrastructure development, President Boakai pointed to the deployment of earth-moving equipment across the country, ongoing road connectivity projects, and improvements in schools and health facilities as evidence of his administration’s commitment to national development.

He stressed that the focus of his administration was not merely about the next election, but about securing a better future for the next generation.

President Boakai also disclosed that Liberia had reached an agreement with a foreign partner for the production of electrical transformers in Liberia to help address challenges in the country’s electricity sector.

“Some people believe that nothing good can happen unless they do it, but when you give them the chance to do it, they cannot do it. We are here to build this country for generations unborn,” the Liberian leader said.

49 Lawmakers Pledge Support to Boakai

At the gathering, Maryland County Representative Anthony Williams disclosed that forty-nine members of the House of Representatives have pledged support for President Joseph Boakai’s re-election bid.

“Forty-nine lawmakers from the House of Representatives have crossed over to the National Independent Movement for Boakai (NIMBO) of Thomas Fallah,” Representative Williams said.

Representative Williams noted that the lawmakers come from different political backgrounds, including independents, and have decided to support President Boakai after observing the work of his administration.

He asserted that with the endorsement of forty-nine lawmakers, President Boakai stands a strong chance of winning the 2029 presidential election.
