Atty. Fahnbulleh said they were stopped by police officers assigned to the medical facility and denied access to the premises. He maintained that no one, including the Inspector General of Police, has the authority to prevent the INCHR from carrying out its mandate.

He said the INCHR will issue a press statement addressing the incident.

Former Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor was rushed to the hospital last evening following a medical emergency while in detention at the National Police Headquarters in Monrovia.

She is reportedly undergoing investigation in connection with the alleged recent drug bust.
