The CDC announced Baikpeh’s death in a statement issued Sunday, describing him as a dedicated party member, political leader and longtime servant of the people.

According to the party, Baikpeh played several important roles within the CDC and its youth structures. He served as Vice Chairman for Operations of the Revolutionary National Youth League (RNYL), the CDC’s senatorial candidate for Grand Bassa County during the 2023 elections, and, until his death, chairman of the CDC Grand Bassa County Chapter.

The party characterized Baikpeh as a disciplined and steadfast member whose loyalty remained firm during difficult periods.

“His passing has robbed the CDC of an erudite comrade, a courageous political soldier, and a leader whose loyalty to the cause remained firm through the most difficult seasons,” the statement said.

As part of its mourning, the CDC has directed that a symbolic black cloth be hung at its Temporary National Headquarters in Monrovia. The party has also instructed its Grand Bassa County headquarters to observe the same gesture in remembrance of Baikpeh.

The party further announced the postponement of a meeting scheduled for Wednesday, August 26, at its Temporary National Headquarters. A new date for the meeting is expected to be announced later.

The CDC extended condolences to Baikpeh’s family, members of the party in Grand Bassa County, and residents of the county as they mourn his death.

In its tribute, the CDC said Baikpeh’s contribution to the party and his service to the people would not be forgotten.

“A comrade has fallen, but his service will never be forgotten,” the party said, describing his death as a loss to both the organization and the people he served.

Baikpeh’s passing leaves the CDC Grand Bassa County Chapter without its chairman as the party prepares to mourn and honor a figure who occupied several leadership positions within its ranks.
