According to an official invitation issued by the Oxford African Governance Forum, Senator Snowe will serve as a featured speaker at a high-level discussion titled, “Strengthening Regional Democracy: The ECOWAS Parliament and the Future of Constitutional Governance in West Africa.” The event is scheduled for July 13 in the Barclay Room at Green Templeton College, Oxford.

The invitation highlights Senator Snowe’s role as Chair of the Committee on Political Affairs, Peace, Security and the African Peer Review Mechanism of the ECOWAS Parliament, noting that his experience and leadership in regional governance make him well-positioned to contribute to discussions on democratic development and constitutional governance across West Africa.

During his visit, Senator Snowe will also participate in a policy dialogue on July 15 titled, “Democracy in West Africa: Electoral Integrity, Regional Governance, and Constitutional Order,” which will be held at the Nissan Lecture Theatre, St Antony’s College, University of Oxford.

The forum will bring together academics, students, diplomats, policymakers, researchers, and members of the African diaspora to examine governance challenges and opportunities confronting the region.

Organizers said the discussions will focus on strengthening democratic institutions, promoting electoral integrity, enhancing regional governance mechanisms, and safeguarding constitutional order in West African states amid evolving political and security dynamics.

In its communication, the Oxford African Governance Forum described Senator Snowe’s public service record as distinguished and expressed confidence that his expertise would add significant value to the deliberations.

The institution also issued the letter in support of his application for a United Kingdom Standard Visitor Visa and requested relevant authorities to facilitate his travel for the academic and policy engagements.

The invitation represents another international platform for Liberia’s participation in discussions on regional governance and democratic consolidation, while also underscoring the growing recognition of Liberian policymakers in global academic and policy circles.

Senator Snowe’s engagements at Oxford are expected to contribute to ongoing conversations on the future of democracy, constitutional governance, and regional cooperation in West Africa.
