Dr. Conteh Presents Letter of Credence to US Officials

Liberia’s Ambassador to the United States of America, Dr. Al- Hassan Conteh, has presented copies of his credentials to the Acting Chief of Protocol of the United States, Madame Abby Jones, at Blair House in Washington, D.C.

Receiving his Credentials, Acting Chief of Protocol Jones welcomed Ambassador Conteh and expressed her firm commitment to promoting United States-Liberia relations.

The presentation marks the official commencement of Ambassador Conteh’s duties as Ambassador to the United States of America and Chief of Diplomatic Mission sequel to the formal presentation of his credentials to President Donald Trump.

Ambassador Conteh conveyed President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., greetings to President Donald J. Trump and expressed his appreciation to Acting Chief of Protocol Jones and her team for their kind welcome and hospitality.

The Ambassador informed the Chief of Protocol that he endeavors to promote trade and investment as part of Liberia’s current foreign policy of economic diplomacy.

He reiterated Liberia’s request for the United States support for its bid for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council and informed that the details of Liberia’s bilateral economic and trade engagements would be discussed at the U.S.-Liberia partnership meeting scheduled for July this year.

Also present at the meeting were Mr. Will Stevens, Deputy Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Department of State; Madam Nan Kennelly, Assistant Chief of Protocol for Diplomatic Affairs; Dr. Christie Graves-Arendt, Deputy Director of the Office of West African Affairs at the U.S. State Department; and Mr. Isaac Yeah, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Liberian Embassy in Washington, D.C.
