MONROVIA – The head of the Asset Recovery and Property Retrieval Taskforce Cllr. Edwin Kla Martin has reported that unknown men attempted entering his home about Tuesday night about 1:30AM on April 29, 2025.
He said the group of unknown men who attempted making their way into his compound uninvited were resisted by officers of the Liberia National Police Emergency Response Unity (ERU) assigned to him.
“It was Tuesday night around about 1:30AM when attempted and by the grace of God the ERU assign to me and my compound resisted them. When I hear the sound of the scuffle, I got outside – it was when the ERU officer told me Chief you have to go back inside, we just resisted some people that attempted to enter the compound,” Cllr. Martin said.
Cllr. Martin said “this is my first time it is happening to me. I just want to let the Liberian people known that the job we do is very risky. With the kind of investigation, we are doing and to see such thing happening, we thank God first for our lives.”
He extended gratitude to the Liberian National Police (LNP) for the swift intervention and said the action by the unknown men will not deter him from performing his duties.
The Asset Recovery and Property Retrieval Taskforce head said his team is currently investigating some high profile cases but did not link the alleged attempted attack to the cases being investigated.
