MONROVIA – The National Identification Registry (NIR) has officially commissioned a significant batch of ICT equipment aimed at enhancing the enrollment process into the National Biometric Identification System (NBIS).

This development marks a major step forward in expanding access to biometric registration for both citizens and foreign residents.

The logistical support, provided by the National Elections Commission (NEC), includes 1,000 enrollment kits.

This inter-agency collaboration is designed to improve efficiency and strengthen public service delivery. With these resources, the NIR is poised to overcome long-standing logistical challenges, particularly in decentralizing enrollment operations across the country.

Executive Director of the NIR, Andrew Peters, expressed enthusiasm over the technical partnership.

He said the new equipment will significantly enhance the registry’s capacity.

The initiative underscores a broader commitment to modernizing national identity systems and ensuring inclusive access to secure identification services.
