Tubmanburg, Bomi County — Liberia’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Catherine Peters, has praised the Bomi County Health Team for what she described as “remarkable and encouraging progress” in strengthening healthcare delivery throughout the county.
Her commendation followed a daylong assessment tour of health facilities across Senjeh, Klay, and Dewoin Districts. Dr. Peters led a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Health to evaluate healthcare service delivery, infrastructure development, and workforce performance at both primary and secondary levels.
Speaking to reporters at the conclusion of the visit in Tubmanburg, Dr. Peters lauded the County Health Officer (CHO) and his team for their dedication, innovation, and results-driven approach to public health.
“Despite logistical hurdles and limited resources, the Bomi County Health Team has demonstrated strong leadership and unwavering commitment to improving maternal and child health, disease surveillance, and community outreach,” she stated.
Dr. Peters also assured the county of the Ministry’s continued support. She pledged to advocate for additional resources — including essential medical supplies, more health workers, transportation, and infrastructure improvements.
She emphasized that the Ministry of Health recognizes the unique challenges faced by Bomi County and reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring equitable healthcare access for all Liberians.
