MONROVIA – Bomi County Senator Edwin Snowe has declared that he will vote against the nomination of Cllr. Oswald Tweh as Liberia’s Minister of National Defense, citing what he described as Tweh’s “dismal” performance as Minister of Justice and Attorney General.

Senator Snowe said his opposition is rooted in his assessment of Tweh’s record in public office, particularly what he characterized as the politicization of Liberia’s justice system during Tweh’s tenure.
“In my considered view, Cllr. Oswald Tweh performed dismally and contributed to the politicization of our justice system,” Snowe said.
According to the Bomi County lawmaker, the Minister of Justice is expected to serve as the government’s principal legal adviser while providing the President and administration with independent, prudent and objective legal counsel.
He argued, however, that Tweh’s tenure frequently appeared to be influenced by political considerations.
