Police Apprehends Alleged Suspect in Attempted Armed Robbery at EcoBank

MONROVIA – The Liberia National Police (LNP) has apprehended an alleged suspect identified as Emery Johnson for an attempted armed robbery that occurred on Wednesday afternoon.

According to eyewitnesses, Johnson reportedly entered EcoBank’s 11th Street branch in Sinkor and attempted to rob the bank.

However, the alleged robbery was thwarted when one of the bank tellers raised an alarm.

In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, the LNP confirmed that Johnson is a resident of Duport Road in Paynesville City, outside Monrovia.

He is currently in police custody and undergoing interrogation.

“11th Street EcoBank reported armed robber has been identified as Emery Johnson, a resident of Duport Road, Paynesville. He is currently in police custody,” the LNP wrote.
