LACC Secures Indictments in Gbarpolu “Yellow Machines” Corruption Case

By: Staff Writer

TEMPLE OF JUSTICE – The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) has secured indictments against several current and former officials of Gbarpolu County, along with a private contractor, in connection with the controversial procurement of heavy-duty equipment, commonly referred to as “yellow machines.”

The indictments were handed down by the 16th Judicial Circuit Court, which returned a True Bill on all charges, including corruption, abuse of public trust, and mismanagement of government resources.

Those indicted include Gbarpolu County Superintendent Sam K. Zinnah, former county officials J. Keyah Saah, Anthony Yorkor, and Robert Benda, as well as vendor Omaru Sheriff.

According to the LACC, the charges stem from its investigation into the alleged misuse of equipment that was intended to support rural development initiatives in Gbarpolu.

The accused individuals have since been arrested and are expected to appear before the court in the coming days.
