Senator Snowe Faults Senate for Inaction Over Allegations Involving Ministry of Information

NATIONAL NEWS

Monrovia, Liberia – Bomi County Senator Edwin Melvin Snowe has expressed dissatisfaction with what he described as the Senate’s failure to take action against the Ministry of Information following allegations made against him.

Speaking on the matter, Senator Snowe said the issue remains unresolved despite the seriousness of the allegations and the level of public attention they have generated.

He noted that the Senate has so far taken no concrete steps to address the situation, a development he described as troubling.

The lawmaker argued that allegations involving a sitting senator and a government ministry should not be ignored.

He stressed that the Senate, in keeping with its oversight responsibility, has a duty to ensure such matters are handled fairly, transparently, and promptly.

According to Senator Snowe, the continued silence from the Senate has left the public without clear information and has fueled unnecessary speculation.

He further emphasized that the matter goes beyond his personal reputation, noting that the Senate’s response to allegations involving public officials reflects on the credibility and integrity of the institution as a whole.

He warned that prolonged inaction could erode public confidence in the legislative process.

Senator Snowe has therefore called on the Senate leadership to review the matter and take appropriate action in line with its constitutional mandate.

As of the time of this report, neither the Senate nor the Ministry of Information has issued an official response to the concerns raised by the Bomi County lawmaker.
